A COUPLE who bought a luxury property for $2.6 million in a master-planned community were stunned at being “ordered” to pay a $50,000 joining fee.
They’ve claimed in a lawsuit that they ended up paying the fee “under duress” in South Carolina – or they risked losing their $200,000 deposit.
They’re angry as weeks after paying the disputed $50,000 joining fee, the charge was suddenly slashed to zero for new homebuyers.
