Off-duty Sanitation worker charged in road rage incident on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An off-duty city Sanitation Department worker was arrested after a road rage incident where victims claim he threatened them with a gun at a busy intersection in New Dorp, according to sources.

James Asnes, 35, stands accused in the incident that occurred during the evening rush hour on March 5 at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard, Allison Avenue and Ebbitts Street, according to multiple sources.

The defendant had a valid New York State concealed carry permit for a gun that later was recovered by authorities, according to a law enforcement source…
