Six measles cases hit two California counties
Six confirmed measles cases have turned up across Sacramento and Placer counties since late February. This marks California’s third outbreak in 2026, following eight cases in Shasta County in February.
Health officials are still looking into more suspected cases and working to reach everyone who may have come in contact with the virus.
The California Department of Public Health is asking residents to make sure their measles vaccinations are up to date.
