A 26-year-old Chicago man was detained Thursday after prosecutors said he shot his own mother four times, then opened fire on a Chicago Police sergeant minutes later, telling investigators he had been wanting to shoot a cop since he had a recent “spiritual awakening.”
Judge James Costello ordered Treavor Taylor detained on charges of attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery by discharging a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated battery of a peace officer.
