An Austin man died after a vehicle struck him in the 9300 block of Menchaca Road in South Austin, according to the Austin Police Department. Police identified the pedestrian as Jefferson Gustavo Ramirez Ramirez. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officers said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators as they opened a follow-up investigation.
