NEW ORLEANS — A woman received threatening phone calls hours after a video she posted went viral showing float riders appearing to make Nazi salutes during the St. Patrick’s Day Metairie Road parade, according to a New Orleans Police Department report.
The riders’ gestures Sunday drew a swift response from Jefferson Parish and parade officials and condemnation from local Jewish community groups as police began their investigation into the calls.
The woman, who is not identified in the police report and asked to not be identified when contacted Thursday by WWL Louisiana, told police that she began to receive “several” phone calls from a blocked number around 9:30 p.m. Sunday…
