Letters Sent Regarding Village Electrical Aggregation Program

On June 10, 2024, the Village entered into an agreement with MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (MC2), which allows for eligible residents and small business customers to participate in the Electric Aggregation Program. Participants in the program pay an electricity supply price equal to the ComEd rate and, in turn, the program provides the Village with Renewable Energy Certificates to be designated an EPA Green Power Community at zero added cost to eligible residents and the Village.

Periodically, MC2 will add or drop residents from the program following ComEd rate changes or changes in usage behavior. Managing the program in this manner allows MC2 to offer services to the Village, resulting in the creation of renewable energy on the Village’s behalf. Recently, some eligible residents and small businesses received a letter (example here) from MC2 informing them that they will be included in this program.
