Naperville leads suburban Chicago home sales in February

Home sales slowed across suburban Chicago in February, but Naperville led the region with 63 detached home sales during the month, a 16.7% increase compared to last year, according to Mainstreet REALTORS®.

Overall, detached home sales fell nearly 10% year over year across the region, dropping to 1,445 in February from 1,596 a year earlier. Attached homes saw a similar dip, with 802 sales, down 7% from last February.

Even with fewer sales, prices kept climbing. The median price reached $390,000 for detached homes and $270,000 for attached properties. Homes also took longer to sell, with detached properties averaging 63 days on the market, up from 59 days last year. Attached homes averaged 60 days, up from 53 days the previous year…
