Roughly four years after making its San Antonio debut, fast-casual chain Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is poised to launch a third location here, this one by the UT-San Antonio campus.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based chain will start construction on a unit at 5746 UTSA Blvd. in July with plans to complete work in late November, according to a filing with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The company will spend more than $1.2 million developing the freestanding 2,900-square-foot eatery, records show.
Hawaiian Bros’ menu is focused on island-style comfort food such as slow-roasted pulled pork and teriyaki chicken served with traditional sides such as rice, macaroni salad and seasoned vegetables.
