Vickery Ave Corridor Claims Another Life In Deadly Late-Night Rollover

A 63-year-old man was killed early Thursday when his car overturned in a single-vehicle crash along Vickery Avenue East in unincorporated Pierce County. Deputies and firefighters arrived to find the vehicle on its roof, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the rollover.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Central Pierce Fire and Rescue were dispatched at 12:18 a.m. on March 19 to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the 10900 block of Vickery Ave E. The agency said the car was found upside down and the 63-year-old male driver was dead. In its post, the sheriff’s office also reminded residents to call 911 in an emergency.

The 10900 block of Vickery Ave E sits in the Summit area east of Tacoma, a stretch that has seen its share of serious wrecks in recent years. KIRO 7 reported a deadly motorcycle crash near Vickery and 104th Street East in August 2025, underscoring that this corridor has seen high-severity collisions.
