Hearing moved after murder suspect refused to leave jail cell

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The man accused of killing his girlfriend in McCully, then stabbing his estranged wife in Kapolei failed to appear at his court arraignment Thursday.

The state said John Nihipali Sr., 55, refused to leave his jail cell for his court appearance.

Nihipali was indicted on multiple charges, including murder and attempted murder, for the March 5 attacks. He was out on an Oahu Community Correctional Center work furlough pass at the time…
