Man sentenced after pleading guilty to 1st-degree kidnapping, domestic assault

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — An Asheville man has been sentenced to prison after he pleaded guilty to first-degree kidnapping and domestic assault in Buncombe County Superior Court.

Dennis Tyrone Garnett Jr., 25, was sentenced in to serve a minimum of five years and a maximum of seven years in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. According to a news release from the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, Garnett pleaded guilty to first-degree kidnapping, felony intimidating a state’s witness, misdemeanor communicating threats and misdemeanor domestic violence.
