ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Atlanta Police Department’s mounted patrol unit is facing a whistleblower lawsuit that accuses the city of neglecting its horses and allegedly punishing the unit’s stable master after she raised concerns about their care and safety.
In a lawsuit filed Monday in Fulton County Superior Court, stable master Kelly Robison accused the city of Atlanta of allowing horses’ skin infections to go untreated; failing to provide consistently clean water; and feeding horses dry food she said can lead to a dangerous digestive condition called colic.
“If you don’t catch the colic, it can be deadly 100% because if there’s nothing to remove the blockage, it just builds because there’s only one way for it to go,” Robison said…
