Bronx Block Shaken As Cops Hunt Duo In White Plains Road Backpack Shooting

Late-night gunfire on a Wakefield block left residents rattled after, police say, one man pulled a gun from another man’s backpack and squeezed off several rounds on White Plains Road.

According to an NYPD alert, the shooting happened on Saturday, March 14, at about 9:45 p.m. in front of 3975 White Plains Road. Investigators say one of the two men removed a handgun from the other man’s bookbag and opened fire multiple times.

The alert states that the first man pulled the firearm from the second man’s bag, then fired several rounds, and it pins the incident to the time and location on White Plains Road.
