COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Children can recognize kind souls. The students in Shannon Hopkin’s kindergarten classroom at Eagle Ridge Academy experience that kindness every day. Through dedication, patience, and a genuine love for teaching, Hopkin helps students feel confident, supported and ready to learn.
For the difference being made in the classroom, she is this week’s One Class at a Time winner and receives a $300 classroom grant provided by Daniel Appliance. The grant will help enhance learning opportunities for students and continue the great work happening in the classroom.
After a esteemed career in education, she plans to retire at the end of this school year. She started as a Columbus State University graduate, and taught for 30 years. She loves each of her students as if they were her own…
