Richland County residents urge state to deny granite mining permit amid environmental concerns

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A proposed granite mining project in Richland County is moving closer to a decision as it continues through the state permitting process.

The project was the focus of a public meeting and hearing Thursday, where community members shared concerns about how it could impact nearby neighborhoods.
