GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Researchers say one in five adults who die by suicide have spent at least one night in jail in the year prior.
A new study conducted by Michigan State University and Brown University is looking to save lives by offering support to those people recently released from jail.
The study found that a single session of safety planning and follow-up calls reduces suicide risk in the community by half.
