APD arrest leads to capture of suspect wanted by Interpol for attempted murder in Bahamas, reports show

A disturbance call to a local motel Wednesday afternoon led Alcoa Police officers to arrest a man wanted by the International Police for an attempted murder in the Bahamas.

Just before 2 p.m., officers responded to reports that a housekeeper had pulled a gun on a guest at the Alcoa Inn, 2450 Airport Highway. Darrell Hurst, 33, of Maryville, told officers that he’d been listening to music in his room when a housekeeper, later identified as D’Andre Devon Moxey, 28, came in.

Hurst said he hadn’t heard the Moxey knocking because of his headphones, something which seemed to anger Moxey. The two argued for a bit before Moxey appeared to retreat back to his own room at the motel…
