2 charged after children found living in ‘deplorable conditions’ in Gloucester County

GLOUCESTER, Va. — Two people are facing felony child neglect charges after investigators say they found young children living in unsafe conditions at a Gloucester County home.

According to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and investigators responded Wednesday, March 18, to a residence in the 12400 block of Pine Trail after animal control officers reported concerns about both animals and children at the property.

Animal control officers were initially called for a report of animal neglect. While at the home, they alerted authorities after discovering possible signs that children inside the residence were also being neglected…
