Drug arrests made during traffic stops in Bedford County

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office reported that its Community Action Team deputies conducted targeted operations and criminal interdiction along Route 460 in Montvale and Route 24 in the Chamblissburg/Stewartsville area over the past week. Multiple traffic stops led to arrests of wanted individuals from other jurisdictions.

One suspect, Carl Gibson, was found with 158 grams of methamphetamine and attempted to flee on foot. Another passenger, Lloyd Wright, provided false identification but was later identified as wanted on warrants from Roanoke County. Additional drug charges are pending lab results.
