A Colfax woman accused of altering a rural Colfax man’s check has been charged with two class D felonies. The criminal complaint filed by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says 41-year-old Amanda Lacy Necessary altered the victim’s check to her name, and changed the amount from $200 to $3,600. She allegedly deposited the check into her account at a Colfax bank on October 30th of last year, and spent the money.
Necessary is charged with forgery and 2nd degree theft. She was released from custody on her own recognizance on Tuesday, pending her next court appearance this coming Tuesday, March 24th…
