El Paso has a pretty causal and laid-back style. We could be in our athleisure wear to grab some tacos, the desert heat makes it totally acceptable to show up in shorts and a tank to a sushi place, but when it comes to steakhouses, I like to think we get a little fancy.
And if there’s one place where that’s going to come in handy, it’s Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which is reminding diners that yes- there is a dress code, and yes- it actually matters!
Ruth’s Chris Is Reminding Diners to Dress the Part
The upscale steakhouse chain is back in headlines after reminding guests that its dining rooms follow a business casual dress code. That means a few things right off the bat:
- No hats in the dining room
- No gym or pool attire
- No revealing outfits or clothing with offensive graphics
And if you were planning on rocking a ball cap? You might get redirected to the bar or lounge instead.
Basically, if it looks like something you’d wear to the gym, the pool, or a quick errand run, it’s probably not making the cut.

Here’s where we have to say it, this really shouldn’t be shocking. At least not to those of us in Texas!…
