A Rockdale man is in La Salle County Jail on a lengthy list of charges. The Sheriff’s report says John Planinsek was observed Thursday morning driving on East Etna road in Ottawa. Planinsek was a person of interest from a March 9th pursuit on I-80 near Marseilles. Police arrested the 40-year old Planinsek Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving with no insurance and having a revoked license.
At the County Jail , Planinsek was charged with violating a pre-trial release. That stemmed from a September 2025 Ottawa Police case where he was indicted for Felony possession of a stolen vehicle and Felony Retail Theft. Planinsek will see a judge…
