Abandoned Dog, Possibly Thrown from a Nearby Bridge, Ends Up on the Roof of a Kansas City Distillery

The dog, named Reiger after the distillery, is now available for adoption

After a fraught, stormy night and a heroic rescue, a Kansas City dog is ready to find his forever family.

On Saturday, March 7, employees at J. Reiger & Co., a distillery in Kansas City, Missouri, arrived at work to discover a scared and confused young shepherd mix stuck atop an outdoor tent, per KC Pet Project and KCTV 5. Baffled, the outdoor bar’s staff reviewed surveillance footage from the night prior and witnessed a heartbreaking scene.

In the footage, the dog appears to fall onto the tent late on Friday, March 6, and then spends the rest of the night walking around the tent and part of the bar’s roof, all during a “nasty” storm, per KC Pet Project.

After watching the footage, many distillery employees surmised that the dog may have been thrown off a nearby bridge, causing him to land forcefully on the business’s roof…
