Akron Children’s Hospital is looking for people making a real difference in kids’ lives

AKRON, Ohio — Every community has them — the volunteer who quietly shows up, the nonprofit doing the work no one else will, the business that decided children’s health was worth investing in. Now, Akron Children’s Hospital wants to make sure they get recognized.

The hospital is accepting nominations for its second annual More Childhood, Please.™ Awards, honoring individuals, families, organizations and businesses making a meaningful difference in the health and lives of children. The awards ceremony is scheduled for September 23 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Akron Fairlawn.

Seven award categories are open for nominations. The Nonprofit Impact Award recognizes a registered nonprofit that has improved children’s lives through programs, advocacy or partnerships. The Young Leader Award is designed for changemakers between the ages of 10 and 24 whose efforts have advanced child health and wellness. The Civic Impact Award honors mission-driven clubs, associations or committees strengthening children’s futures through community action…
