Why We Loved Boojum Brewery Taproom in Waynesville, NC
After wrapping up a 5-mile out-and-back hike to Mount Pisgah along the Blue Ridge Parkway, we were absolutely starving—and Boojum Brewery Taproom was exactly what we needed.
What We Drank
The beer lineup gave everyone something to enjoy:
- Upside Down IPA (6.5%) A smooth, easy-drinking IPA with a light body and medium bitterness. Dry-hopped with Nectaron and Rakau hops, it brings bright flavors of peach, grapefruit, and passionfruit.
- Nightfall Oatmeal Stout (6.2%) Smooth and silky with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, and roasted nuts. A rich stout that still feels balanced.
- Breezy Blonde Ale (4.7%) Clean, crisp, and refreshing. Made with El Dorado and Idaho 7 hops, it’s light and very drinkable.

What We Ordered
So Gouda Chicken (Melissa’s pick)
A comfort-food favorite. The panko-crusted Springer Mountain Farms chicken breast was stuffed with bacon and smoked gouda, then topped with a savory mushroom cream sauce. Served with mashed potatoes and braised collard greens, it was hearty and full of flavor.
Baja Fish Tacos (Kenny’s pick)
A fresh and flavorful option featuring beer-battered cod, cole slaw, IPA pickled onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, and a bright key lime-cilantro crema. Served with chips and salsa…
