City to end criminal summonses for low-level cyclist, e-bike offenses

The NYPD will stop issuing criminal summonses for low-level e-bike and cyclist traffic offenses later this month, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Wednesday.

Starting Friday, March 27, e-bike riders and cyclists won’t have to appear in criminal court for “minor” violations like running through a stop sign, the mayor said in a release.
