PALM HARBOR, Fla. — David Lipsky made a loud move Friday afternoon at the Valspar Championship, firing a blistering 6-under 65 to vault himself firmly into contention heading into the weekend.
Lipsky, who teed off early in the second round at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort, wasted little time getting going. He pieced together a clean, controlled round highlighted by steady ball striking and a hot putter, taking advantage of scoring opportunities while avoiding the big mistakes that often derail rounds at one of the PGA Tour’s more demanding layouts.
