Caught by Canal: Cape Coral Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

CAPE CORAL, FL – In the early morning hours of Friday, March 20, 2026, Cape Coral Police officers arrested Koltin Troy Burns (DOB 3/16/2006) of Cape Coral after responding to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress on NE 18th Avenue.

Around 12:29 a.m., officers were dispatched after a resident reported seeing a male suspect attempting to open vehicle doors. Surveillance footage showed a man in a blue hoodie and light gray sweatpants entering multiple vehicles in the neighborhood.

Officers quickly set up a perimeter and issued a description. K‑9 units from the Cape Coral Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office assisted, with the track ending near a canal behind NE 18th Avenue.
