North Miami woman slips cuffs, escapes police cruiser ― but terrain was her downfall, cops say

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. — Police say a North Miami woman turned a misdemeanor arrest into a second-degree felony on Thursday when she managed to slip out of her handcuffs in the back of a patrol car and escape the vehicle.

But they said 30-year-old Lantana Chasser didn’t get too far; elevation proved to be her kryptonite.
