Man wanted by Interpol on attempted murder charge arrested in Alcoa

ALCOA, Tenn. (WATE) — A man wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) on a charge of attempted murder in the Bahamas was arrested at an Alcoa hotel where he was working as a housekeeper following an incident with a guest Wednesday afternoon.

An incident report from the Alcoa Police Department said that officers were dispatched to the Alcoa Inn, located in the 2400 block of Alcoa Highway, after a report was made of a disturbance involving a firearm.

While speaking with witnesses, the officers learned that a housekeeper, D’Andre Moxey, had given a guest a hard time about not answering the door when he knocked to clean his hotel room. The witnesses continued to state that a verbal argument ensued and Moxey returned to his room, grabbed a gun, and ran back toward the guest, who then locked himself in his room

The report also noted that officers checked video footage that showed Moxey running to his hotel room, reemerging with a black handgun, and running toward the guest. After the guest went back into his room and closed the door, the officer wrote in the report that Moxey was seen on video trying to push the door open with his shoulder…
