Florida man pleads guilty to fentanyl distribution and firearm charges

PENSACOLA, Florida — Scott Oranje, a 52-year-old from Mary Esther, Florida, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl.

The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. “Fentanyl has had an absolutely devastating impact on our communities for several years,” Heekin said, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking through initiatives like Operation Take Back America.

According to court documents, on November 10, 2025, law enforcement intercepted a package containing over 300 grams of fentanyl addressed to Oranje’s residence. A controlled delivery was conducted, and Oranje was taken into custody after attempting to flee with the package. A search of his residence revealed a digital scale, narcotics paraphernalia, owe sheets, and multiple firearms.
