Crash suspect bolts into Palm City senior facility as deputies find nitrous oxide cans

PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — An escape unfolded in Palm City as the alleged driver fled the scene of a crash, only to be apprehended shortly after, raising concerns over reckless behavior linked to nitrous oxide use.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said that the incident began at the intersection of Berry Avenue and Martin Highway in Palm City, where a driver involved in a crash fled the scene on foot.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect run from the crash site and into a nearby senior care facility before disappearing into the Islesworth community…
