LINCOLN, N.H. (WPRI) — Two Rhode Island hikers were rescued Thursday from a trail on Mount Flume in Franconia Notch, New Hampshire, according to the state’s Fish and Game Law Enforcement Division and Operation Game Thief.
Conservation officers were contacted around 2:15 p.m. by two hikers who reported being stuck near the top of the Flume Slide due to extremely icy conditions.
Rescue teams hiked up and reached the stranded pair at 6:15 p.m. They were lowered to safety using ropes, crampons and harnesses, and then brought to a safe location…
