Chief of Police John Cregan of the Santa Rosa Police Department has received the Allen W. Sill Founders Award from the California Police Chiefs Association. The award was presented during the annual training symposium in San Diego to recognize his leadership and contributions to law enforcement across California.
Chief Cregan serves on the association’s Board of Directors and was recently elected to the executive board. He leads efforts to improve officer wellness, expand mental health crisis response teams, and reduce violence linked to ghost guns. His work with the inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team and advocacy for trauma-informed care have become models for other communities.
