Emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle collision with entrapment Friday afternoon in the Odessa area, resulting in six people being transported to the hospital, including two by helicopter.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:05 p.m. on Old State Road near Old Corbit Road. New Castle County Paramedics and multiple fire and rescue agencies were dispatched to the scene, where responders found a sedan and an SUV involved in a crash with heavy entrapment. Firefighters worked for about 25 minutes to free occupants from the vehicles.
Two patients sustained serious injuries. A 20-year-old female and a 43-year-old female were both reported in serious condition with extremity trauma and possible internal injuries.
