Jackson Mayor: ‘We don’t expect that the city is going to run its water system ever again’

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Jackson Mayor John Horhn continues to speak out about a federal judge’s recent decision approving a rate increase for JXN Water, saying the utility would have enough money to cover costs if billing improved.

“We should be collecting enough money to run that system without having to do these large rate increases,” he said. “That’s our position. It’s been our position since day one, and it continues to be our position.”
