One charged in North Little Rock vacant home arsons

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Residents in one North Little Rock neighborhood say a string of intentionally set fires has left them on edge for months, as investigators work to determine who is responsible and whether multiple suspects may be involved.

Since last May, the North Little Rock Fire Marshal’s Office has responded to more than 16 fires at vacant homes, most of them in the Rose City area. Officials say the fires are not only dangerous, but are also taking a financial toll on nearby homeowners.

Ricky Conway, who lives just a few houses away from one of the burned properties, says the fires often happen quietly and without warning.

“All we have to do is just be citizens to this city and try to be here for each other, not burning and making houses come down,” Conway said…
