SPRINGFIELD – As the Sangamon County Board prepares to decide whether to bring a data center to the county, residents in other communities are urging caution.
The proposed data center in Sangamon County is by CyrusOne, a Dallas-based company which has other Illinois data centers in Aurora and Lombard.
Aurora city councilwoman Shweta Baid said she has been woken up to calls, emails and videos from her constituents on the city’s east side about the data center making an “unbelievable noise.”…
