City begins demolition of tornado-damaged homes

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The city and state paid approximately $50,000 to demolish a tornado-damaged home in the 5200 block of Enright on Friday, in one of the first demolitions the city is moving forward on since the devastating storm ten months ago.

The home was owned by someone with a mailing address in Canada. It was condemned and a problem well before the tornado, officials said. The owner did not apply for assistance through the city. Officials said they will attempt to recoup the money from the owner via a lien.
