SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Residents received a first look at the new design for the Springfield Expo Center at an event on Thursday, March 19.
According to a City of Springfield press release, Architect Populas showcased the design at the Discovery Center of Springfield based on feedback from the three recent community vision workups and stakeholder meetings.
The city notes in the release that the designs are “conceptual only” and will not be an exact representation of final renderings.
“Springfield voters are who will ultimately decide the fate of this project on April 7,” said City Manager David Cameron. “We learned a lot after the defeat of the previous ballot measure in November – which, by the way, failed by fewer than 400 votes with only a 7% voter turnout.”…
