Memorial Hermann The Woodlands honors Certified Nurses

Did you know? March 19th marks annual Certified Nurses Day – a day set aside to recognize the nurses who have made a deliberate investment in their profession. This is comparable to the board certification a physician may undergo to reflect their expertise.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center has the privilege of recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet® designated hospital since 2000 and was the first hospital to achieve this in Montgomery County. Last year during their 40th anniversary, they were recertified a fourth time under the new, higher level of a Magnet with Distinction®-Recognized Nursing Facility. Now, they are proud to share that on Certified Nurses Day, more than 43% of their nurses hold a specialty certification!

Specialty certification is not just a credential behind a nurse’s name. The research is clear: certified nurses demonstrate stronger clinical judgment, identify complications earlier and contribute to measurably better patient outcomes. Studies consistently show that higher rates of certified nurses on a unit are associated with lower rates of failure-to-rescue events, reduced hospital-acquired infections and improved patient satisfaction…
