LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — It costs about $120 a day to keep someone in prison, nearly $45,000 a year. And even with that investment, nearly half of those released will end up back behind bars.
Research shows diversion programs can break that cycle by addressing root causes like mental health and addiction. Here in Las Vegas, the LIMA program is doing just that through a partnership between Metro Police and the courts.
