Tillett Foundation Donates $200K to Farm Museum

Supporters of the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum gathered Thursday to celebrate a $200,000 donation from the Tillett Charitable Foundation.

Bill Tillett, retired from his work as a Loudoun auctioneer and farmer, is a long-time supporter of the museum, serving on its board of directors for a decade. The donation will be used to expand and revamp the museum’s exhibit space.

The work will include the establishment of the Bill Tillett Legacy Hall, a space behind the popular Waxpool General Store display his family previously donated.

“Bill and his family have been long-standing supporters of the farm community here in Loudoun. He grew up on a dairy farm, gaining firsthand knowledge of the hard work, resilience and dedication that define our agriculture heritage,” Museum board President Bryan Turner said. “Many in this community also know Bill as a well-known, respected auctioneer. His voice, energy and passion brought people together, and through his work, he helped connect generations to the tools, traditions and stories of rural life.”…
