CLAY, Ala. (TRIBUNE) — After the Clay-Pinson Chamber of Commerce unexpectedly announced Tuesday, March 17, that it would stop hosting the annual Alabama Butterbean Festival and would be restructuring because Clay and Pinson were “choosing not to continue funding the Chamber in its current form,” Clay Mayor Jane Anderton said Wednesday evening that chamber leadership, not the cities, killed the festival and then tried to pin it on elected officials.
