HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — Bridge demolition work at Pump House Road gets underway Friday evening, leading to the closure of a portion of Highway 280. The Alabama Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan alternate routes or to use the detour they will have set up this weekend.
The $53 million project will widen a portion of Highway 280 and re-surface the road from Homewood to the Cahaba River Bridge.
