Mikey Wilkins on his future with NC State: ‘It’s gonna be war when I get out there’

RALEIGH, N.C. — One year ago, Zymicah “Mikey” Wilkins had a difficult decision to make. The former Top-80 recruit in the country and No. 12 center in the 2025 class had offers from across the country, but chose to stick with his commitment to the Wolfpack despite a head coaching change to Will Wade.

But when he arrived on campus during summer workouts, it was clear Wilkins had work to do. The 6-foot-9 big man weighed in at 260 pounds and was winded going through full-court sprints during offseason conditioning.

The hope for any freshman coming in is to make an immediate impact, but it was clear Wilkins would need time to develop in Wade’s system before making a difference. Wilkins never doubted the plan and instantly got to work…
