Starting Monday, Mar. 23, sections of Hillsborough’s Governor Burke Road and Carrboro’s E. Popular Avenue and Roberson Street will be closed by crews conducting repairs.
A release from the North Carolina Department of Transportation said a planned pipe replacement will lead to the temporary closure of a section of Governor Burke Road in Hillsborough starting at the beginning of the week. Work will take place between N.C. 57 and Miller Road, and will begin at 9 a.m. Weather permitting, the department said it expects work to be complete by Mar. 31.
While those living on that stretch of road will still have access to their driveways, traffic will have to use one of multiple detour routes, including on Farmview Road, Miller Road, N.C. 86 and N.C. 57.
