Fort Myers man sentenced to five years in prison after fleeing traffic stop, hiding under trailer

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Fort Myers man was sentenced to five years in prison on Thursday on charges of resisting an officer without violence, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Jophery McCoy, 49, was stopped by deputies in his car on June 2, 2025.
