Because of ongoing drought and high wildfire danger, Alachua County has extended its countywide burn ban through March 27, 2026. The ban prohibits all unauthorized open burning, including campfires, bonfires, trash burning, and fireworks. Only small barbecue grills and state-authorized burns are exempt.
Residents are asked to avoid any activity that could cause sparks or flames, properly dispose of smoking materials, and report any fires by calling 911. Violating the ban is illegal and could result in being held financially responsible for damages and firefighting costs…
